Paganism - Beliefs
These are my beliefs I will discuss, individual to me. The great thing about paganism is that it is not precriptive. So my core beliefs include:
Energy
I believe that everything is essentially energy. This energy makes up the universe and everything in it. As this energy is fluid it is changeable meaning through intention, using your own energy you can interact with other energy and change anything in your life.
Your intentioned energy goes out in to the astral plane, which is like the blue print of the universe. Although you also have to take all pratical steps to achieve your goal on the physical plane as well.
Yin Yang
However the universe requires balance. Balance is part of life, good, bad, life, death, happiness, sadness etc. If you imagine the universe as a giant jigsaw puzzle with you being a piece you can not begin to image how with your energies you will effect the other pieces. So for this reason the universe will not let you do anything that could influence the other pieces of the jigsaw against their will or throw off the univeral balance.
Karma
As part of the universal balance, what you send out you shall recieve. What this essentially means is that if you put out positive energy you shall recieve positive energy. But if you put out negative energy, treating people wrongly, this will come back to you with you recieving negativity in return.
God and Goddess
Many pagans believe in a god and a goddess. I differ slightly. I do believe there is a god-like being, but that it is one that is genderless as it is simply energy. Some pagans would disagree with this, although like I said earier these are my own individual beliefs.
That kind of summeries my beliefs. As many people examine their belief systems and often email me asking for advice on the first steps to explore paganism. I think it is important for individuals to have their own journey, so the only advice I would give is to look at my Recommended Reading section and read a few of the books listed.
In love and light,
Antony
